Mary was born and raised Catholic in the Philly suburbs, and attended Catholic school until seventh grade. In high school, she became a lapsed Catholic, as they used to say, and fell completely away from that faith. After her children were born in the 70's and 80's she was looking for a spiritual and social justice minded community, so she joined a UU congregation- first in Andover, MA and then in Evanston IL. She was so happy to find such a wonderful, welcoming UU community here in Ft Myers!
Mary has two daughters and two sons who have given her 6 wonderful grandchildren. She is fortunate to have added two more sons and five additional awesome grandchildren through my marriage to Vijay. Tragically, her first husband of 23 years passed away when he was only 48.
Professionally Mary has worked in healthcare policy and data analytics for various organizations for over 40 years. She was privileged to lead a few companies and divisions where I worked with a great staff and (usually) wonderful customers. Today, Mary still works part-time with a few colleagues in a small, "boutique" consultancy, and serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She has enjoyed volunteering as a literacy advocate for underserved children in Chicago, and was certified last year as a docent with the Chicago Architectural Center.
