A Month of Sundays

All services take place in the William Burnside Miller Sanctuary, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

July 2008

6th: “America’s Songs, America’s Pride” Alan Gilbert, guest artist
Join us to hear and sing some of the American Songbook as we celebrate July 4th..

13th: “Israel at 60” Rabbi Jeremy Barras
When we asked Rabbi Jeremy Barras of Temple Beth El in Ft. Myers what his passion was, he said quickly, “Israel.” We are fortunate to welcome him to our pulpit, and to note that he has just completed his first highly successful year in Fort Myers, culminating in a congregational trip to Israel last month.

20th: "Salvation by Character" Suzanne Fast, Intern Minister at UU Congregation of Greater Naples
This tenet is deeply rooted in our tradition. Suzanne Fast, a member of our congregation, a lifelong UU, a candidate for the ministry at Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago and presently an Intern Minister at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples, will explore what character has meant and what it might mean for us now.

27th: “Blessing of the Animals” The Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans (CUUPS)
Join us for this UUCFM tradition as CUUPS members guide us in an annual blessing of the animals in celebration of Lammas. In this service, you are welcome to bring your pet(s) on a leash or in a carrier. Alternatively, bring a picture of them to share. This special service is held in Hobart Hall.

And Another Thing...
"To worship is to stand in awe under a heaven of stars, before a flower, a leaf in sunlight, or a grain of sand. To worship is to sing with the singing beauty of the earth; it is to listen through a storm to the still small voice within."

The Reverend Jacob Trapp,
Unitarian Universalist Minister
