Community Sharing Partner: Literary Council Gulf Coast

One of the ways we live our spiritual values in the world is by making them real through the form of financial contribution.  I invite you to enliven your commitment to this community and be generous in giving to support the work of this Congregation during this challenging time.

Every month we also donate funds to a community organization in Lee County. This month our Community Sharing Partner is The Literary Council Gulf Coast. The Literary Council Gulf Coast is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization committed to improving English language and reading skills of adults and children throughout Southwest Florida. The Literacy Council Gulf Coast provides free instruction for adults in reading and writing, and in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

They offer Moms and Tots Family Literacy for mothers and their young children and Kids + Lifelong Learning for parents in Title I schools. Additionally, they offer work-site literacy programs at local golf/gated communities. Their program serves residents of Bonita Springs, San Carlos Park, Estero, Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Cape Coral, Sanibel & Naples.

If you would like to make an online donation to UUCFM or pay your church pledge virtually, please click the yellow Donate below -- which takes you to our paypal account.

Extinguishing the Chalice

We extinguish this flame but not the light of truth,
the warmth of community or the fire of commitment.
These we carry in our hearts until we are together again.
