Chalice Lighting and Covenant

Love is the spirit of this church
And service its law
This is our great covenant
To dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love
And to help one another
~ James Vila Blake

Opening Hymn

#1000 - Morning Has Come - Vs. 1

Morning has come, arise and greet the day!
Dance with joy and sing a song of gladness!
The light of hope here shines upon each face
May it bring faith to guide our journey home.

Stones of Intention and Power

"In My Quiet Sorrow"
Suellen Kipp

(The number in the counter above signifies the number of people who have placed their stone before yours.
After you add yours, the counter will include it
and it will be included in the total for those who follow you.
Please know that you are doing this in community.)

May your prayers be heard and your hearts be restored.

Hymn

#1012  When I Am Frightened, Vs. 1

When I am frightened, will you reassure me?
When I'm uncertain, will you hold my hand?
Will you be strong for me?
Sing to me quietly?
Will you share some of your stories with me?
If you will show me compassion
Then I may learn to care as you do
Then I may learn to grow.

Video:  Community Sharing Partner: Joseph Bonasia for Pachamama Alliance SWFL

One of the ways we live our spiritual values in the world is by making them real through the form of financial contribution.  I invite you to enliven your commitment to this community and be generous in giving to support the work of this Congregation during this challenging time.

Every month we also donate funds to a community organization in Lee County.  Our community sharing partner this month is The Pachamama Alliance of SW Florida. The Pachamama Alliance of SW Florida was formed in October 2016 after a group of local leaders took the Game Changer Intensive together. Our Intention is to work with the people in Southwest Florida who are beginning to live in a new dream— one that fosters environmental sustainability, social justice, and spiritual fulfillment.  We have begun to set an example of local support for national and global initiatives that create the more beautiful world we know is possible.

Before COVID, we met on the first Thursday evening of every month for Game Changer Gatherings at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers. These gatherings featured well known and respected community leaders, bringing a lot of community activists through our doors.  We also have a regular newsletter that reaches over 350 Pachamama People who have participated in our programs.

If you would like to make an online donation to UUCFM or pay your church pledge virtually, please click the yellow Donate below -- which takes you to our paypal account.

Extinguishing the Chalice

We extinguish this flame but not the light of truth,
the warmth of community or the fire of commitment.
These we carry in our hearts until we are together again.
